WebGate

GPS Mapping and Asset Control

WebGate is our latest development for interacting with the DataGate server. It is slowly replacing the DataHost client software, allowing users to access the DataGate from any web browser without installing software.

Each user is assigned various permissions, ranging from simple read-only mapping to complete control over DataGate assets and users.

Features

  • GPS tracking
  • Bing, Google, OpenStreetMaps and KML mapping
  • Polling for asset positions
  • Emergency alerts
  • Remote control of asset settings
  • Historical reports (map or spreadsheet)
  • Polygon (multipoint) geofencing
  • Dynamic geofencing between assets
  • Emergency alerts
  • Two-way text messaging
  • I/O monitoring and control
  • Follow one asset with auto map scroll
  • Hot pursuit for real-time tracking
  • Administrative control of assets, users and groups
  • Access to DataGate logs
  • Unlimited customer groupings
  • Complete privacy between groups

Groups

Assets and users can be assigned to groups configured by the DataGate operator. This allows one DataGate to serve multiple fleets or customers.

WebGate User Access Options

1: Administrator Complete control over assets and users

2: Supervisor Controls which assets are visible to each user

3: NormalBasic control, based on configurable permissions

The following screen shows a typical WebGate session. Note the asset list and detailed properties on the left side, with alerts and messages on the right.

DataNet Tracking System

Asset configuration allows control over reporting settings, as well as advanced configuration (depending on user permissions).

DataNet Tracking System

WebGate allows multiple polygon geofences to be created. Any selected vehicle entering or leaving a fenced area will generate an alert that can be emailed to any address. Dynamic geofencing is also supported, where an alert is created when two or more assets get too close or far apart.

geo-fancing

WebGate is now the recommended user interface to DataGate, although DataHost will continue to be available for users who prefer a client program.
